Exciting Plans for 2017
Charity Grant Fund Applications Now Decided
The Art Trail Auction is one of the highlights of our year. All profits go to local good causes, and so far we have distributed over £33,000. All 101 huts made a spectacular display, and despite a sudden downpour, the auction raised over £5000 which will be given to local worthy causes through our grants scheme.
Cheques will be presented on Sunday 29 January 2017
A Feast of Fun Food, Art, Music & Heritage
Our crab and lobster festival is a lively weekend celebration of two fine North Norfolk coastal towns, Cromer & Sheringham. Historically great rivals, but now joining together as two of Norfolk's premier seaside destinations to create a friendly and entertaining weekend event. The festival is dedicated to promoting our local seafaring heritage and active fishing community. Our small boats launch from the beach and brave the North sea in all weathers to bring home delicious crabs and lobsters for your delectation!
We believe this is the only two town crab & lobster festival in Britain, with a programme full of activities and events in both towns it's a packed weekend. The fun starts on Friday night with a traditional seaside variety show staged at the wonderful Cromer Pier Pavillion Theatre, Pier of The Year in 2015. Festival events continue on Saturday and Sunday in Cromer plus a full Sunday in Sheringham too! Visit both towns to enjoy their individual character, and experience a very special friendly festival created for the benefit of visitors, businesses and the local community.
The Festival is run entirely by volunteers from both towns, their aim is to make each Crab & Lobster Festival successful, memorable, fun, entertaining and informative. It's such a wonderful way to get together and celebrate our way of life here... and a great opportunity to encourage visitors to come along and enjoy what we have to offer. We aim to keep the Festival as a free event for all the family, but ask visitors please to contribute to our bucket collection.
Funds raised go to support local charities and good causes, and to create future festival events.
